OVU faced reigning conference champs, WV Wesleyan College in a double header at Jackson Park field.
In game one OVU’s Ally Southall took the mound in a game that would be a battle of pitches.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Donna Obryant doubled to score Kourtney Allender whose speed bought her around from first to home. Bouchard followed with a single to left field that scored O’Bryant.
Southall had 3 three up three down innings and six strike outs in her five innings pitched. CeCe Bailey came in for the save as the Scots won the game 2-0.
The Bobcats took an early lead in game two of the doubleheader scoring three runs in quick succession off of CeCe Bailey. Ally Southall came in and shut the inning down but damage had been done.
The score remained 3-0, and OVU was unable to recover despite having several players on base.
The OVU softball team will be back in action tomorrow against Davis and Elkins College at 1 & 3 pm.
