VIENNA, WV – Nationally known educator, author and presenter Dr. Curtis J. Bonk will give several presentations regarding online teaching and learning at Ohio Valley University on January 7, 2010.
The presentations will be held in OVU’s Chapel on the main campus from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The presentation will benefit P-12 and higher education students, faculties, administrators and IT. Lectures are free and open to the public.
“Students are using technology for many purposes outside the classroom and educators need to focus their use of technology on learning,” OVU Dean of the College of Education Jo Pennington said. “The presentation is open to everyone including students, parents and educators so that they can assist one another to become lifelong learners. Dr. Bonk is creative and has innovative teaching and learning methods for P-12 teachers and higher education instructors. What he has to share in his presentations will be valuable for all instructors to learn and to utilize in the classroom.”
“We are anticipating that people will be on campus throughout the day for the presentations,” Pennington continued. “Educators need to evaluate online tools and learn to effectively utilize them in their education process. We hope that individuals in the community as well as educators will take this opportunity to attend one or all of the sessions.”
