VIENNA, W.Va. – Ohio Valley University was recently honored with a creative marketing excellence award by the International Davey Awards.
The Davey Awards honor the achievements of the "Creative Davids" who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than big budgets. Winners for the prestigious 2012 awards were recently announced from New York City and were selected from more than 4,000 entries from around the world.
OVU’s “Just Imagine” recruitment video was recognized for its outstanding creativity and execution. “Just Imagine” tells the compelling, inspiring, and unique message of Ohio Valley University as told from the perspective of its faculty and students. The 5.5 minute high-definition video was placed on OVU’s website (www.ovu.edu/justimagine) and distributed via email to the University’s “Sweet 16” states and counties. The “Sweet 16” is the affectionate name for the surrounding 16 counties to Wood County, West Virginia, and 16 states that comprise the Northeast quadrant of the U.S.
The video was developed and produced by Stonewall Marketing in Marietta, Ohio.
“Imagine attending one of the nation’s top ranked Universities where the faculty and staff care about your educational and spiritual growth as much as you do. Imagine an institution of higher learning that is unique in the way it combines a Christian worldview with quality academics in a community that values service. Imagine the pursuit of your higher education where you can truly grow as an individual, not as a number… those are just a few of the many points we worked to convey in the video,” said Dr. Harold Shank, OVU president.
The Davey Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 200+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts.
