VIENNA, WV – Ohio Valley University Dean of the College of Education, Jo Pennington, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the Educator Preparation Program Review Board (EPPRB).
She was nominated by Ben Exley, executive director of the West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities (WVICU), and appointed by the West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE).
“I am happy to serve West Virginia’s Board of Education, P-12 schools, and teacher preparation programs in this way,” said Pennington. “Working with the EPPRB is a unique professional activity.”
According to Lisa D. Hedrick, executive director of the Office of Professional Preparation, “The major function of the EPPRB is to review all proposed and revised educator preparation programs and to make a recommendation to the WVBE. Representatives from both public schools and higher education institutions serve on the EPPRB, as it makes decisions which pertain to both levels of education.”
“We deeply appreciate Dean Pennington’s dedication to OVU and to the advancement of education in West Virginia,” said Dr. Harold Shank, OVU president.
