VIENNA, W.Va. – Ohio Valley University’s spring commencement has been scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the Alumni Gym beginning at 10 a.m. The commencement speaker will be Stanley R. Hancock, Senior Program Leader for The Boeing Company.
Hancock is a chief specialist responsible for the development and training of Boeing business executives and senior managers. He also serves on the Boeing Higher Education Integration Board.
“Stan is a Boeing trainer who prepares executives and future executives to lead the company into the future. His training style is especially effective, leveraging years of experience and stories with the Boeing Company. I enjoyed being trained by Stan while at Boeing and believe he has much wisdom to offer our graduating students,” said Jeff Dimick, OVU Executive Vice President.
Born and raised in Wichita, Kans., Hancock joined Boeing in Wichita in 1978 after obtaining a bachelor of business administration degree from Wichita State University. He also completed an MBA at Southwestern College. In his 35 years with Boeing, he has worked for both military and commercial business units in Wichita and Seattle with many analysis/administration/management positions for numerous programs and organizations. In fact he has worked in every traditional discipline in the company.
Hancock has actively represented Boeing in his community, leading charitable and large event campaigns/programs over the years. He has served as a Loaned Executive to the United Way, a two-term president of the Boeing Wichita Leadership Association, and 20 years on the Board of Control.
