VIENNA, W.Va. – An Ohio Valley University trustee was recently appointed chancellor of the University of Rwanda.
Dr. Mike O’Neal serves on OVU’s Board of Trustees, which is responsible for maintaining and advancing policies and procedures. The board provides the administration and faculty with the necessary tools and oversight leadership to help them accomplish the University’s mission.
“Dr. O’Neal’s service to OVU has been tremendous. We congratulate him on this significant accomplishment,” said Dr. Harold Shank, OVU president.
O’Neal’s role as chancellor will be largely ceremonial. He will preside over graduation ceremonies and other events, but won’t be involved in the day-to-day operations. His main objective will be to serve as an advocate for the university’s vision and advancement.
O’Neal will continue to reside in Oklahoma.
