What is it?
• Career Mastery is a competitive opportunity for 15 OVU students who have completed their first semester with at least a 3.0 GPA and a nomination from one or more OVU professors.
• It is a three-credit-hour course (UNI 290) designed to help students determine the purpose for which they were created and begin to form career goals for meaningful lives.
When is it?
The course will include a week of intensive collaboration August 12-18, 2012, preceded by a day-long orientation on Saturday, April 28, and four 2 ½-hour virtual evening meetings (May 3, June 7, July 5, and August 2). The hours will apply to Fall ’12 semester.
Where is it?
The orientation will be at OVU; the virtual meetings will use the facilities of Sakai and Adobe Connect; the August 12-14 sessions will be at OVU; and the August 15-18 sessions will be at the Residential and Academic Facilities of The Washington Center (TWC) in Washington, D.C.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the entire experience (housing at OVU and TWC, meals at OVU, transportation to D.C., and tuition for three credit hours) will be included in the regular cost of OVU tuition for a three-credit-hour course. The only additional costs will be approximately $100 for books and materials and the cost of some of the meals for the four days in D. C. The apartments at TWC are state of the art and furnished, with a full kitchen in each.
