Fighting Scots lose on the road

California, PA (August 29, 2009) – Behind the third career hat trick by Mike Luecke (SR-Harleysville, PA) and goals from five other players, the California University-PA men’s soccer team cruised to a 9-1 victory over Ohio Valley University on Saturday at Roadman Park.

Through two games, the Vulcans have out-scored their opponents by a combined 14-4 en route to a 2-0 record. Meanwhile, the Fighting Scots fall to 1-1 on the season.

Ohio Valley University would avoid the shutout when Roberto Jofra (JR-Miami, FL) headed a ball past the keeper from a great cross by Alex Ross (FR-Cross Lanes, WV).

The Vulcans would out shoot the Fighting Scots by a 30-10 margin and also held the advantage in shots on goal 17-7.  Cal-PA would also hold a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Fighting Scots (1-1-0) return home to host visiting Tiffin University (1-0-0) on September 1, 2009.
