VIENNA, WV – Dust off your tennis shoes and brush up on your volleyball skills because Ohio Valley University will be hosting a Volleyball Alumni Weekend on September 11 – 12, 2009. All alumni male and female volleyball players, coaches, and assistants from OVU and Northeastern Christian Junior College in Villanova, Pennsylvania are invited to attend the event.

“I would like to have OVU and NCJC alumni return to see each other and the improvements on the OVU campus,” OVU Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Paul Jacoby said. “I have coached 30 years of volleyball, 15 at NCJC and 15 at OVU, and I’m hoping to reconnect with all of the past players and coaches that have been a part of the volleyball program and enjoy a weekend at OVU.”

Northeastern Christian Junior College was founded in 1957 as the Northeastern Institute for Christian Education (NICE) in Villanova, Pa. In 1964 NICE became Northeastern Christian Junior College (NCJC). Consolidation of NCJC and OVC (now OVU) was finalized in February 1993, and brought together members of the boards of trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and constituents from both institutions. Since then the new larger institution retained the name and location of Ohio Valley College, which has now become Ohio Valley University.

Friday, September 11



6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Courts set up for free play in the OVU Snyder Activity Center



Lobby OVU Snyder Activity Center will be set up for visiting 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.



Reception and dinner (East of Chicago) at the Comfort Inn in Parkersburg

Saturday, September 12



6:00 – 11:00 a.m. Free continental breakfast at Comfort Inn



11:00 a.m. OVU Volleyball match against University Pitt Johnstown (UPJ) in the OVU Snyder Activity Center 1:00 p.m. Lunch (Philly Dawgz) at Comfort Inn
