VIENNA, WV – Ohio Valley University Head Men’s Soccer Coach Dan Lyons announced that Andrew Hanlon, of Vienna, West Virginia, will join the Fighting Scots roster next season. Hanlon recently signed a national letter of intent to play for the Ohio Valley University men’s soccer team.
“Andrew is a long and tall player and could be a diamond in the rough for us,” said Lyons. “He will help us start a junior varsity team this coming fall and will have an opportunity to develop his skills during his freshman year.”
Andrew Hanlon, son of Margaret Hanlon, graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School in Parkersburg, W.Va. He will play goal keeper and intends to major in biology at OVU this fall.
Hanlon has played four years of varsity soccer on his high school team and was named the Most Valuable Player in 2009. He was nominated to the West Virginia All-Star Team and played on the Little Kanawha Conference Coaches Boys All-Star Team in 2009.
