VIENNA, WV – Ohio Valley University student-athlete standout Roberto Jofra has recently gained national ranking in multiple categories of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II men’s soccer.
As of October 11, Jofra was ranked third in the division for goals made per game, eighth in points made per game, and 13th in total goals. He also came in just shy of the top 20 list with a ranking of 21st place in total points.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Jofra attended South Miami Senior High School in Florida. He is currently a fifth-year senior majoring in accounting and has played the position of forward for the Fighting Scots since 2008.
"Roberto is a hard worker. He has achieved tremendous success on and off the field and gives 100% effort in whatever he does. We are extremely proud of his accomplishments,” said Dan Lyons, OVU head men’s soccer coach.
"I am successful this year because of the play from my teammates and the instruction from the coaching staff. I appreciate everything they have done for me in my time here at Ohio Valley University,” Jofra said.
The Fighting Scots men’s soccer team takes to the road for three of its final four games at Concord University, University of Charleston and Point Park University. The team’s final home game of the season will take place October 22 at 3:30 p.m. against Alderson-Broaddus College.
