VIENNA, WV – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II has recently ranked Ohio Valley University’s Lady Scots basketball program as one of the top five most improved programs during the 2010-11 basketball season. The ranking is based upon wins and losses over the last two seasons.
The Lady Scots made tremendous improvements this season by winning 10 more games than they did during 2009-10 season. In only his second season at the helm, head coach David Wadlington helped lead the Lady Scots to a school-record for most wins in a season since the school transitioned to NCAA DII. Not only did the Lady Scots have a winning season, but they broke the school-record for most wins in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) and most consecutive wins in a season.
“I would like to say it is a great achievement to be ranked as one of the most improved programs in the NCAA DII,” said Wadlington. “Our players have worked really hard to change the mentality of the program. They understand that success comes through hard work. We are working to not only recruit great talent to the program, but players who understand what it takes to be successful on and off the court. We must have the attitude to prepare to win each day.”
