GREETINGS FROM THE COLLEGE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES AT OHIO VALLEY UNIVERSITY

I am excited to have joined the OVU family and to be a part of two schools which are the heart of the university. We want you to benefit from studying God's word and from learning how people relate and think.

In the School of Biblical Studies, our task is to share the life changing story of Jesus with every student on the OVU campus. It is our aim to equip students to accurately handle the Word of God, train them with skills for sharing the story, and to help each of them fulfill his or her destiny in God’s Kingdom.

In the School of Behavioral Sciences, our goal is to provide our students with training in the diversity of human behavior in its social and historical context. We want to couple an accurate knowledge of the behavioral sciences with the skills necessary for the direct application of that knowledge to our world.

Dr. John A Quelch, Dean of the London Business School, once said of their educational institution, “We are not in the education business. We are in the transformation business. We expect everyone who participates in a program at the London Business School to be transformed by the experience.” Our prayer for every student who comes through OVU is that they will be personally transformed so that they in turn can bring the transforming power of Christ to the world around them. We want our students at OVU to get more than an education. We want the story of Jesus to transform them. We want all of our classes to be socially relevant, academically excellent, and both globally and personally transforming.
