Filing a Formal Complaint

Despite the University's best efforts to ensure your safety & security, personal & professional development, and overall transformation, situations may arise that cause you concern. In such cases, you have the right to file a formal complaint in writing with the Dean of Students.

Your formal complaint should describe the basis for your concern, and you are encouraged to be specific in identifying all individuals involved. Additionally, your complaint must be signed.

The Dean of Students will investigate the allegations in your complaint, keep you informed as to the progress of the investigation, and share the outcome with you.

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools requires the University to maintain a record of formal complaints as well as any follow-up efforts. To protect privacy and in accordance with federal law, neither the complainant's name nor the names of individuals identified in the complaint will be recorded in the University's complaint log.

Individuals may view the formal complaint log in the Dean of Student's office.
