Photography
The Marketing Office at Ohio Valley University is committed to presenting professional marketing materials to external audiences. As part of our comprehensive planning, we strive to ensure that University materials have the best photography possible included in them.
Ohio Valley University does not attempt to collect photo-release forms from members of its Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, staff, or student body. Instead we make the assumption that OVU Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, staff, and students are our best resources for marketing the University and its constituencies and that they will welcome involvement in these activities.
All photographs submitted to or taken for/by Ohio Valley University are the property of OVU and may be used for Ohio Valley University promotional purposes (e.g. electronic and printed publications, Web sites, classroom use, University ads, etc.).
The University also reserves the right to take photographs and publish submitted photographs of campus facilities and scenes (i.e. classrooms, hallways, chapel, gymnasiums, cafeteria, student center, etc), campus events (commencement exercises, homecoming, donor recognition, athletic contests, social club activities, etc) and off-campus events (i.e. athletic contests, social club activities, etc) where subjects do not have an expectation of privacy, provided the photographs do not violate the privacy of the subject.
Consent
Any individual who does not consent to the use of his or her photograph by the University must notify—in writing—the Marketing Office, Ohio Valley University, 1 Campus View Drive, Vienna, WV 26105-8000, within ten days of an event. A phone number should be included in any such correspondence.
