Athletic Director Dennis Cox will begin his 38th year with Ohio Valley University this fall.  He also serves as the University's Senior Vice President.

Cox began his career at OVU in the Admissions Office and served for over 20 years as the school's Dean of Student Services.  For much of his tenure in student services he was he administrator for intercollegiate athletics. 

In 1996, while OVU was affiliated with the NAIA, Cox began an intercollegiate men's golf program at OVU.  He served as the program's head coach during the University's transition to Division II of the NCAA.  His Fighting Scots golf team captured the West Virgnia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) crown in 2003, the school's first year of full eligibility in the NCAA and WVIAC.  He was recognized that season as the Coach of the Year in the WVIAC.

Cox brings to his role as the Athletic Director many years of experience in OVU administration.  Under his leadership both Fighting Scots and Lady Scots athletic programs continu to grow both in the number of student-athlete participants as well as in improved competitiveness.
