A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ron Pavan has served as the athletic director at Ohio Valley University for over a decade. During his tenure the OVU athletic program has experienced tremendous growth and successfully graduated hundreds of student-athletes.
Pavan is responsible for launching eleven sports programs on campus and was instrumental in the university securing an invitation to compete in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Pavan also led the team that eventually secured Ohio Valley University’s entrance into NCAA Division II competition. He launched an annual athletic fund-raising dinner, corporate sponsorship program, and managed renovations to the campus fitness center, fields and gymnasium.
Ron is a member of the president’s senior administration, cabinet and roundtable, and is the current chair of the physical education program. He has over 20 years experience in coaching numerous college sports and directing intramurals. Ron is also a former student-athlete who competed in basketball and soccer.
Pavan enjoys running, playing sports and drawing. He also serves as a deacon at the Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna, W.Va. Ron and his wife, Tammi, reside in Parkersburg with their three children.
