The Ohio Valley University campus is rich in opportunities for students to participate in the performing arts. From staged drama productions and improvisational theatre to jazz ensembles and Christian vocal groups, you can find your niche on and off stage at OVU.

The A Cappella Singers [Apply for scholarships online]
The A Cappella Singers is OVU's oldest performing ensemble. It is an auditioned chorus that performs a wide range of music for a cappella voices. From Renaissance to modern music and spirituals to hymn arrangements, ACS presents varied programs that are consistently met with critical acclaim.
Ambassadors
Ambassadors is the University's traveling Christian drama group. Comprised of students who perform short skits and improvisational drama, the group appeals to teens and adults alike. They travel extensively throughout the eastern and central United States and share compelling, fun and thought-provoking skits about Christianity. They frequently perform at youth rallies, schools, church events and camps, spreading God's word through their unique and unusual dramatic style.
Evergreen Community Orchestra [Apply for scholarships online]
Ohio Valley University is proud to be the home of the Evergreen Community Orchestra. Established in the late '80s, the orchestra is conducted by OVU's own Andrew Cook, assistant professor in music. The group hold two concerts a year and is open by audition to students at OVU. Amateur musicians from throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley are also members of this unique group.

Express, OVU's contemporary Christian ensemble, tours extensively during the summer and throughout the academic year. They perform over 200 concerts a year at venues such as at youth rallies, camps, youth retreats, banquets and schools. Their unique style of vocal harmony and arrangements allows the group to share the message of God to a wide variety of audiences. Members of the group are full-time students and serve as ambassadors, encouraging young people to consider a Christian education at Ohio Valley University.

The OVU Choral Union is an a cappella performing ensemble open to all members the local community, high school age and above. No audition is required and the group is open to anyone who has a genuine love for a cappella singing and choral music. A $75 annual music and participation fee is required. Student wishing to participate may pay $50 per semester. Discounts are also available to alumni, senior citizens and multiple family members.
Jazz Ensemble [Apply for scholarships online]
OVU's Jazz Ensemble is a traditional "big band" that plays jazz standards in a variety of styles including swing, bebop, cool jazz, fusion and funk. The groups plays several concerts a year, including performances in OVU's EXPRESSIONS!, the annual Jazz Coffeehouse and various engagements throughout the community.
