Lady Scots Basketball program ranked top 5 Nationally as MOST IMPROVED
|
|
Vienna, WV – The NCAA DII has ranked the OVU Lady Scots basketball program as one of the top five Most Improved programs during the 2010-11 basketball season. The ranking is based upon wins and losses over the last two seasons. The Lady Scots made a huge improvement winning 10 more games than they did during 2009-10. In only his second season at the helm, head coach David Wadlington helped lead the Lady Scots to a school-record for most wins in a season since the school transitioned to NCAA DII. Not only did the Lady Scots have a winning season, but they broke the school-record for most wins in the WVIAC and most consecutive wins in a season. “I would like to say it is a great achievement to be ranked as one of the most improved programs in NCAA DII. Our players certainly deserve some exposure and feel they have worked really hard to change the mentality of the program. We understand that success comes through hard work and the better players we bring into this program the better we will be. Not only do we want to bring in great talent, but players who understand what it takes to be successful. We must have the attitude to prepare to win each day.”
