INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT (ITM) DEGREE
In today’s businesses and industries, Information Technology Management (ITM) is everywhere. Modern managers need to know about Information Technology and how to manage their IT staff. Ohio Valley University's degree program in Information Technology Management prepares students to be managers with an understanding of IT targeted toward the management of IT staff and systems. Courses provide students with the knowledge and ability to function successfully in a rapidly changing organizational and technological environment. Information Technology Management includes disciplines such as management, project management, financial management, software, hardware, and IT security. Students may pursue career opportunities in business information technology, management information systems, information centers, project management, and other related areas.

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) identifies growing markets and seeks to provide degrees for students to earn so they may fill the open positions of the employers in those fields.
SPS currently offers baccalaureate degree programs in Energy Management & Production Engineering (EMPE) and Sports Management.

Ohio Valley University’s Energy Management & Production Engineering (EMPE) baccalaureate degree prepares students to manage energy organizations and personnel in a fast-growing, world-wide, in-demand industry. This degree major (or minor concentration) was specifically designed for 25 of the best students per year and is the cornerstone of the OVU School of Professional Studies. Students have exciting opportunities to gain real-world experience through summer internships each year while in the program. SPORTS MANAGEMENT DEGREE
The Sports Management program at Ohio Valley University provides students with both theoretical and practical knowledge applicable to a career in the multi-billion dollar sports industry. Two major degree tracks, Sports Business and Sports Administration/Coaching prepare graduates to be effective members of an organization immediately upon employment. Coursework advances leadership skills, business IQ and interpersonal communication techniques, and equips students with knowledge about the workings of the sports industry. Exposure to both experiential and traditional learning methods is provided by experienced and field tested faculty. Instructors are not just theoretical scholars; they have also worked in the field.
