Higher Learning Commission
Since July 1978, the university has been accredited by Higher Learning Commission. In 2020, Ohio Valley University was placed on Probation by the Higher Learning Commission. Information related to this accreditation may be found at Accreditation Information.

International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education
The following Bachelor of Science programs in the College of Business have been accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE): Accounting, Business Administration, Organizational Management, and Sports Management. Programs at OVU have been accredited by the IACBE since October 1998.
