Earl F. Ash
Director, OVU Center for Church Care
Earl F. Ash brings a wealth of experience to his role as Director of Ohio Valley University's Center for Church Care. Earl joined the Center’s team in December 2012 with the primary goal of bolstering the valued relationships between OVU and the churches of Christ that have been such an important part of furthering the mission of Christian higher education throughout OVU’s rich history.
Earl Ash spent twenty years in the worldwide freight industry, overseeing shipment operations, compliance and safety in nuclear shipping, and serving as a liaison for FedEx for their national and international independent contractors.
In 2005, Ash followed God’s calling into full-time ministry when he accepted the position of Evangelist/Minister at the Massillon Church of Christ in Massillon, Ohio. Earl spent seven years sharing the gospel in Canton. In addition to preaching at his home church, he enjoyed opportunities to teach the gospel in nineteen other congregations across three other states, implemented evangelism programs, and regularly conducted personal Bible studies resulting in numerous baptisms.
Ash earned his Bachelor’s degree in Ministry in 1998, his Master of Science in Biblical Counseling in 2000, and a Doctor of Ministry in 2006 from the Theological University of America.
Earl and his wife, Sonya, have a daughter, Kenleigh, who currently attends Ohio Valley University. Their son Ethan graduated from OVU. Earl and Sonya attend the Massillon Church of Christ in Massillon, OH, where Earl continues to preach part-time.
