INCOMING FRESHMAN | FALL REGISTRATION

WELCOME to Ohio Valley University! We are excited for you to join our Fighting Scot family and achieve your dreams for the future. We hope that you are excited, too. As you have previously been notified, you are provisionally accepted to OVU. This provisional acceptance places you on “academic warning” status, which will be lifted after you complete the fall semester earning 12 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Your provisional status may be due to a lack of test scores, as many test dates were cancelled surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also possible that your test scores were received, but did not meet our minimum requirement fro admission.

In order to ensure your success at OVU, provisional students are strongly encouraged to participate in placement testing before registering for classes. These test scores will allow your advisor to place you in the appropriate courses during the fall semester. Should you choose to opt out of testing, you will be placed in developmental courses that DO NOT count toward your credit requirement for graduation. We want you to spend your time and money in the best way possible to receive an education that will bless you for the rest of your life, as well as be ready to thrive as a college student here at OVU.

This testing will be offered online once a week the month of July, beginning at 9am. You will receive a Zoom call link and password for your testing session. Results are provided immediately, so you will be able to go directly into class registration following your testing. You can sign up for the date of your choice below. Should you choose not to test, please select the opt out option below and read carefully.

**Due to COVID-19, you will be testing from the comfort of your own home. If you have any concerns with this, please call the number below.

If you have any questions regarding placement testing, please contact Admissions at 304-865-6206 or admissions@ovu.edu.
