Alpha Chi Inductees Announced AT OVU
VIENNA, W.Va. (November 9, 2015)--Eight Ohio Valley University students were recently inducted into the West Virginia Zeta chapter of Alpha Chi, a national college honor society, OVU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Joy Jones announced.
The new senior members are Abigail Brannon of Kenna, W.Va.; Anne Colley of Louisville, Ohio; and Jessica Schoonover of Sardis, Ohio.
The new junior members are Stefanie Brosey of Severn, Maryland; Kelcie Garrett of Vienna, W.Va.; Joseph Scott Lowe of Palestine, W.Va.; Adessa Morris of Marietta, Ohio, and Trevor Osborne of Spring Hill, Tenn.
Chapter Sponsor and Chair of the OVU School of Behavioral Sciences Dr. Jonathan P. Miller conducted the initiation ceremony. Ohio Valley University President Dr. Harold Shank also addressed the inductees at the ceremony.
Membership in Alpha Chi is limited to no more than the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes. The objectives of Alpha Chi are to promote and to recognize superior scholarship and those elements of character that make scholarship effective for service. The prestigious society was founded in 1922 and has more than 300 chapters.
