OVU Welcomes Steve Kenney as Spiritual Life Director
Investment in the spiritual development of our students is at the heart of who we are at Ohio Valley University. From Bible curriculum to chapel services, students learn about Jesus Christ, some for the first time. Championing this effort is our new Spiritual Life Director, Steve Kenney. “I love the opportunity to present our winsome Savior and Lord. They have many preconceptions and even fears. It is a joy to be able to address those with the peace of Christ,” he countered.
Kenney’s background includes years spent, as a preacher and a lawyer allowing him to serve in various roles within each profession. His teaching responsibilities at OVU will allow him to interact with students from both the criminal justice and biblical fields of study. Mr. Kenney has eagerly taken on the challenge of higher education that he believes will blend his training and experience.
“I believe God has been preparing me all my life... my Bible degree from Abilene Christian had a mission's emphasis. To be at a school with such an international flavor is perfect for me! The world is coming to us at Ohio Valley University, and I am thrilled God has placed me here to represent him,” Kenney stated.
Unparalleled to his professional accomplishments are as Kenney describes, “the lights of my life," his wife of thirty-seven years, three children and two grandchildren. We are excited to see God transform lives through Steve’s ministry here at OVU.
