OVU Welcomes Donna Morris
Donna Morris is eager to begin her assignment within the English department at Ohio Valley University this fall. Her heart to connect with students stems from her time at Cedarville College where she shared that professors went beyond dispensing information to modeling how a teacher should relate to their students. “My desire is to be that same kind of instructor, giving a piece of myself along with the content studied in order to make that important connection and make a difference.”
Morris obtained an English Degree with a Secondary Education emphasis at Cedarville College and is currently in the process of completing her thesis for a MA at SNHU. Throughout the last 19 years, Mrs. Morris taught a variety of classes at Wood County Christian School in Williamstown, primarily focusing on English. In addition to her teaching position, she has spent time tutoring students.
When she is not in the classroom, Mrs. Morris can be found in the kitchen baking, sewing, or spending time with her family. Her husband of over thirty years, three sons, a daughter, and granddaughter fill her life with great joy. The family wholeheartedly supports the mission and vision of OVU, as three of the children are alumni.
Morris shared what she hopes to achieve in her new role, “I think the best way God can use me in my position here at OVU is for me to share myself with my students, getting to know them, and being available. God calls us to be His hands and feet here on this earth; that cannot be done without relationship building.”
