When you look back at college days from your future, lifelong friends will be a big part of your memories. Club activities, playing together, serving together nurture those friendships now so that you will have them not only to look back on but to enjoy in the future as well. As with all things at Ohio Valley University, our clubs also strive to uphold our mission and reflect our Christian foundation and affiliation with churches of Christ.

OVU Social Clubs

You can’t be on campus more than fifteen minutes without someone hearing these two words: SOCIAL CLUBS!

Ohio Valley University has four social clubs: Delta, Kappa, Sigma, and Theta. Each club has a unique personality and new students are encouraged to find the one that fits them best and join.

Throughout year, the four clubs compete for highly esteemed Club of the Year. We battle it out through intramural sports, highest average GPA, community service points, and Expressions! (a student variety show).

Though competition is fierce, the Club of the Year title is not our main goal. Club members become friends and family as we journey through our education together. We gather for holiday parties, bonfires, and picnics. We support one another, laugh, cry, and study together.

Check out our clubs. Join one. You’ll never regret it.

Alpha Chi Honor Society West Virginia Zeta Chapter

Ohio Valley University proudly hosts a vibrant chapter of the Alpha Chi Honor Society for students who exhibit academic excellence and exemplary character. Alpha Chi members include the top 10% of the Junior and Senior classes at OVU, and are elected for induction by faculty. Alpha Chi members often participate in a range of activities including club meetings, tutoring, and attending Alpha Chi conventions.

Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration

Membership in Sigma Beta Delta is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter. To be eligible for membership, a business student must rank in the upper twenty percent of the junior, senior or master’s class and be invited to membership by the faculty officers.

Diversity Club

Ohio Valley University enjoys great diversity among its students. The OVU Diversity Club promotes appreciation for the cultural diversity at our University through intercultural exchange and a number of activities designed highlight the unique qualities of each culture represented at OVU. We often invite our broader community to participate in our activities in hopes of developing a broader appreciation for diversity and multi-culturism.

The Diversity Club hosts monthly events on campus such as foreign film night, an origami workshop, or presentations about holidays from around the world. There are also annual events including the International Culture Night Performance. Diversity Club events are open to all OVU students, faculty, and staff.
