Ohio Valley University’s Student Government Association serves three primary purposes:
- Accomplish the University’s mission to transform lives;
- Raise up students as servant-leaders in the University’s Christ-centered community; and
Partner with the University’s administration in caring for the spiritual, academic, and social well-being of all OVU students.
Student Government Activities
A great night of games and trick-or-treating for the community, followed by Open Dorm time on Main campus.
You don’t have to love basketball to enjoy this celebration at the SAC opening the NCAA season! Games, contests, and b-ball players showin’ out!

Watch the game of the year (or just the commercials) on a giant screen in Roberts Hall with good food and great friends!
WINTER & SPRING BANQUETS
Celebrate the end of each semester with a deep fellow students a nice dinner and entertainment, and the faculty and staff who helped you through it all.
No year at Ohio Valley University would be complete without a 50-foot slip-n-slide complete with a mud pit at the bottom! A cookout, tug-of-war, and sand volleyball round out this end-of-year bash.
The president and vice-president are elected on the second Tuesday of April. Petitions for candidacy must be submitted to the Dean of Students. The President-elect will appoint the treasurer and secretary, who will then be confirmed by Parliament.
Students wishing to run for Parliament must submit a 100 word statement declaring their qualifications to run for office to the Dean of Students two weeks prior to Parliament elections. Parliament elections are held the third Tuesday of April. Freshman Parliamentarians are elected the second Tuesday of September.
